Join us for this once a year very special Funk players' get together on the actual California beach!
The Pacific Ocean waves breaking on one side of us, breeze and surf bliss, the buzz of The Strand on the other.
8 courts set in a ring, with all of us set up together in the middle.
A groovin' and always splendid time.
Traditionally filled with 20-30 teams,
the field is typically made of 60% Arizona teams and 40% local San Diego area teams.
It's a very cool blend of the two tribes - play new opponents, make new volley-friends!

format
- Coed team 4s - one female minimum needed
- 2 divisions:
Big Kahuna (A/BB level)
and Little Kahuna (B level)
*Little Kahuna division is HANDS FLY FREE:
Hand sets that STAY on your side of the net are not judged or called for spin/double contact or lifts.
This special house rule is ONLY for hand sets clearly being put up for a hitter - it does not mean anything open handed goes, we do not become a wild recreational level affair.
- 5 pool play games for all teams (single games)
- Games to 21 / cap 23
- Double elimination playoffs follow (all teams make the bracket playoffs)
- Bracket games also to 21 / win by 2 with no cap
- 7 games guaranteed (8-12 possible for advancing teams)

3rd place teams (with at least 10 teams) win (TBD)
After tournament get together "party" at Baja Beach Cafe Sat night starting 10 pm
