The Banzai format = We shake it up!
Sign up as an individual player.
You'll play on 3 different teams with 9 different teammates for pool play
- 2 games with your first team
- 2 games with your second team
- 2 games with your third team
6 pool play games total
Pool play games are to 18/cap 21
Then we seed for the playoffs for your 4th and final team of the day
The top 4 players become team #1, the next best 4 = team #2, and so on..
Single elimination bracket playoff games are to 25/ no cap
**IF.. we can get a 50/50 sex split field, we can include some VERY groovy, fun features:
- Reverse Coed and Same Sex 4s as part of the format!
PRIZES
Champs win Funk hoodies or free tourney voucher (player's choice)
Finalists win Funk shirts/tanks
$30 per player
Fridays nights are Hands Fly Free:
It's a friendly Friday of fun play, where players can work on their game in a stress free environment. We do not call hand sets for spin as long as they stay on your team's side of the net.
This is specific to sets - does not unleash a free for all for two open hands Rec play.

Fridays are for making new volley-friends and getting barefoot.
Players on many different personal arcs of development are most welcome, *as long as you understand what clean rules of play means - or you are open to listening and learning.
Join our Funk family.
You should:
- Understand the full rules of clean play *(please ask us if you need some clarification)
- Be able to control the ball consistently
- Be mobile, able to move efficiently and get to the ball
- Have the endurance to play 6-8 games for about 5 hours
Funk Beach Scottsdale features
- Deep sand in the play area, lovingly maintained by Yoshi the Sandboni
- Clean and even coverage LED lighting
- Ball catch netting all around perimeter with 12 house balls spread around
(We never have to go chase balls down)
- Righteous vibes, groovy music, good times
- Full bar just steps away with draft beers, mixed drinks, and Long Drink, Dos XX and other buckets at excellent prices
- Courtside seating all around at bar and tons of chairs on the sand
- Coolers with NON-alcoholic drinks are always A-OK at Elks Island
