FORMAT

- Coed team 4s
- one female minimum required

5 pool play games + Double elimination bracket playoffs
(single games, not best of 3 sets)
- 7 games minimum guaranteed for all players

POOL PLAY
- 5 pool play games for every team
- Single games to 21 (cap 23)

PLAYOFFS

Teams are seeded by their 5 game pool play record
(Wins/Losses first, then point +/- differentials)

- Double elimination bracket play follows
- Single games to 21 (cap 25)

LEVELS
- Teams self identify as Big or Little Kahuna in their registration.
- Pool play pools are balanced with both levels.
- With the records from pool play's 5 games, playoffs are segregated into "Gold & Silver",
or Big and Little Kahuna separate contests.
- Champions and 2nd place will be awarded for both a Big Kahuna and Little Kahuna, separately.

RULES
- Full clean rules of Intermediate (not Rec) volleyball: Lifts, carries, throws, pushes, true double contacts are all forbidden.

- ***Indoor hands rules for defense and setting.
*meaning: open hand/fingers engaged defense, serve receives are A-OK regardless of spin as long as it is not a legit double contact.
Hand sets = same sensibilities. High, quick contact is necessary to ignore the spin.
If the ball is "held" a bit longer, as is often customary in sand play, then sand spin rules apply (= call that stuff).

- NO indoor style open finger pushes or dinks.
- Open hand/fingers engaged shoots/attacks must be clean (= minimal ball rotation.)

- Teams are not required to rotate players.
- Attacking the serve is forbidden.
- Net contact of any kind is forbidden.
- Directing the ball on the block is permissible, BUT CATCHING IT AND THROWING IT DOWN IS CLOWNY STUFF = NO.
Let's keep that sh*t on the rails.
- Net poles are the air boundary antennae.
- Open hands serve receives are permissible.
