- It means SHORT NETS for short players!
The nets are lowered a full 8 inches to 7'4" - for fantasy fun shorty action!
*A SMURF is a player under 6 foot tall**
- 8 players are designated as SMURF Hitters
They are the players who may HIT & BLOCK on the short nets.
* A Gargamel is a player of ANY height*
- 8 players are designated as Gargamel setters or back row players.
AGAIN: These players can be ANY height
- It means SHORT NETS for short players!

- THE PARTY: Everyone is part of the event from beginning to end - the play is not elimination based
- THE BLENDER: You'll play with almost every other player attending

- BIG VALUE: A jumbo sized serving of play of 8 full games to 21 for every player

You should:
- Understand the full rules of clean play for intermediate ball or be open to learning what you do not know yet.
*(Please just ask for clarification if you need it - we can bring you up to speed!)
- Have a little organized volleyball experience
- Be able to control the ball consistently
- Be mobile - able to move efficiently and get to the ball well
- Have the endurance to play 6-8 games for 6 hours
Funk Beach Scottsdale features
- Deep sand in the play area, lovingly maintained by Yoshi the Sandboni!
- Clean and even coverage LED lighting
- Ball catch netting all around perimeter with 12+ house balls spread around
(Never have to go chase balls down)
- Righteous vibes, groovy music, good times
- Full bar just steps away with draft & bottle beers, mixed drinks, and Dos XX and Long Drink buckets at excellent prices
- Courtside seating all around at bar and lots of chairs on the sand
- Coolers with NON-alcoholic drinks are always A-OK at Elks Island
